The Lady Without Her Hat

Sam Cameron - Lady Without a Hat

Four of her most common looks.
Since we have been discussing first ladies the past couple of posts, I figured I would keep going with our theme till I was over it. Today, we are going to discuss the fashion of First Lady Samantha Cameron. She is the wife of British Prime Minister David Cameron. I've always been aware of Lady Cameron and her major role in the fashion industry but nothing caught my eye more than her recent attendance at the Royal Wedding of Will and Kate this past month. Sure we've seen her sitting front row at Burberry shows or in the news working with Anna Wintour but she didn't receive Fierce status until the Royal Wedding for me. She was one of the only woman VIP guest who did not wear a hat. Now, it might not seem like a big deal but when Queen Elizabeth ask you to wear a hat to a royal wedding, typcially you do it. But if you are a fashion forward feminist first lady, you might not feel as though you have to. I started to wonder why Sam didn't want to done a hat. At first, I was thinking, maybe she forgot it in the car or she was just really feeling her haircut. But then I started to think and dig deeper. Here are my speculations:

Sasha Fierce's Favorite Lady Cam Look
1. She is such a fashionista that she knew no matter what she wore it would be hard to compete with the royal cousins, celebritites like Elton John and Posh Spice, and the new princess that the best way to be seen in her green Burberry would be to go without a hat. And it worked

2. The feminist in her didn't want to wear a hat and she wanted to be defiant just like she objected to having a royal chaffeaur thoughout her time as first lady and hired a woman driver to drive her around. She wanted to be hat free cause she wanted to just be and didn't not want to confirm to the British woman's expected role.

3. Since she's too busy consultating a fashion luxory accessory goods company, attending London's fashion week, and simply being a fabulous fashionista she forgot to read the invitation that said hat's were mandatory for all ladies.

According to her sister who has been deputy editor for Vogue. She predicted ahead of time that she might not wear a hat since she has been breaking the British First Lady code since she got into the position.

Either way, we love First Lady Cameron's style. When I think of the current top 3 First Lady fashionistas she's definitly on my list.
