Conservatively Cute

One of my BFF's is a lawyer in Boston. She's in court most days and works for the government. She asked me for some tips on how she can ... you know stand out or floss a little as we say in the A without going overboard. Now, I've known this young woman for years and I've seen her suit closet. If I recall, she had about 20 black suits in very traditional styles. Now, if I'm wrong, I apologize .

Let's just take a look at how far suits have come.  Check out this vintage suit.
So as we all know suits have come a long way. As a feminist, I feel the need to recognize that at one point there were no women lawyers at all. I'm very proud of my BFF for going into a profession that is predominated by males and probably not fashionistas.

So to help out an old pal. I've put together some things that I personally think she will go for. Let's not forget, we need her to keep her job but to look chic putting criminals away. So the easiest look to transform with all those black suits is to get some cool blouses. Blouses have probably transformed even more than suits. I need bright colors and different cuts. Always remember that one critical accessory can make or break the outfit so make sure it's the right one. And the theme of this whole look is that variety is the spice of life and suits have made an 180. You can look modern and conservative.

So those who know me, know that i'm the biggest dreamer you've ever met but realistic. So.. all these looks are under $100 and can be found on the web at Victoria Secrets, Ann Taylor, Spiegel, Banana Republic and New York and Company (my first clothing retail job.) Even better news, almost EVERYTHING IS ON SALE!!!!
