Christian L.

Who made it okay for feminists like myself to wear heals over 4.72 inches long? Chrisitian Louboutin!

A junior high school drop out at the age of 12 he has turned out to be pretty successful. We all know the story...He has worked for some for some for some of the greats like YSL and Chanel and made a name for himself really when he put red nail polish at the bottom of his shoe to make it distinguishishable from others. And guess what it worked.

Louboutin's have become a trademark amongst all our favorite young celebs. All of your favorite celebs wear them and we always find ourselves looking for those red bottoms... or maybe that's just me. But we can't deny seeing the red sole bottoms everywhere from Princess Caroline of Manaco to Laurie Ann Gibson. Everyone who can afford the $400-$3,100 shoes are rocking them.

You can admire these fun red bottoms at high end department stores, online and at boutiques but don't try to imitate them or Chrsitian will sue you. Lawsuits are popping up every month it seems like for the designer. He is suing YSL and Carmen Steffens for having shoes with colored bottoms which he says is copying his 2007 patent. I'm sure anyone else who who thought about putting red bottoms on the bottom of the their shoe have halted production. But that also makes for a large amount of fakes walking around a city near you so be sure your Louboutin's are authentic.

He's now branching out and doing a men's line, flats and even purses. I'm sure a perfume is coming to a store near you for the 20th anniversary next year.

I must say Christian loves the excitement of it all as well. He's opening up new stores all over the world and everywhere you look and turn you see his shoes.

What's your favorite pair?
